The first thing you need to consider when deciding between the manual and remote controlled blinds is whether you have manual or electric (VELUX INTEGRA®) windows.
Our recommendation for the MANUAL windows is the manual blinds, but if you would like to have remote controlled blinds, then the solar powered option is a good choice, because there is no wiring needed.
If you have INTEGRA® windows, we would recommend the electric blinds for the electric window and the solar powered one for the solar window.
VELUX solar powered blinds are a perfect match for VELUX manually operated roof windows and for VELUX INTEGRA® solar powered roof windows.
As the blind comes with a remote control and has a battery that is charged by the sun, it is also ideal for windows that are hard to reach or where you want to adjust the incoming light often.
Also there is no wiring needed.
If you have an electrically powered VELUX INTEGRA® roof window: VELUX electrically powered and remotely controlled blinds are a perfect match for VELUX INTEGRA® electric roof windows and fit these perfectly as:
- you can use your remote touch-screen control pad originally supplied with your VELUX INTEGRA® roof window
- an installation of electric powered blind is easy as VELUX INTEGRA® electric roof windows are made with pre-installed electrical components
- there is no need for any electrical wiring as it is already done for your VELUX INTEGRA® electric roof window
If you don't have an electrically powered VELUX INTEGRA® roof window, but you would like an electrically powered blind, you need to obtain the control system KUX 100. This will allow you to use the electrically powered VELUX blinds or shutters in manually operated roof windows. Or you can install the control system KMX 100 and turn your entire manually operated roof window into an automated one. The control system KMX 100 will allow you to operate multiple electrical products.
Both control systems include a VELUX remote control that will make the blind or shutter io-homecontrol® compatible. The control system KMX 100 also includes a rain sensor.
If you already have a VELUX remote and you wish to synchronize the blind onto that, it’s possible, you will receive a guide on how to do that within the installation manual. Alternatively, please watch this video on how to group products: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbmCz6FgAIU
Please be aware that you will need to have a separate remote for your windows and your blinds. You should also know that you can operate up to 5 products with one remote.
If you wish to synchronize all your VELUX INTEGRA products to one remote, that’s possible too, you will need a VELUX Active kit for that.
